Contemporary Fine Art

Working across photography and painting, Chris Grieve explores how light, movement and deep time shape our experience of the world.

Chris is a UK-based photographer and painter whose work explores our relationship with the world, particularly the sea and coastal landscapes. Her practice often begins with photography and involves integrating photographic imagery into painting. Chris’s artistic practice emerged from a lifelong engagement with change — in people, organisations and the environments we inhabit. After many years working internationally in sustainability and leadership development, she turned to creative practice as another way of exploring complexity, transformation and the relationships that shape living systems. Her work reflects a deep curiosity about how meaning, pattern and connection emerge over time.

Chris’s work is held in private collections in the UK, Europe and Australia.

About

Chris founded Meridian Prime in 2005 to help people and organisations navigate complex change. As an organisational consultant, executive coach and facilitator, she has spent much of her career working internationally with leaders, boards and stakeholders to unlock potential, facilitate dialogue and translate insight into meaningful action. Her work has focused particularly on the human dimensions of sustainable development, exploring how people, systems and environments interact and evolve.

She served as Executive Director of the EDGE Certified Foundation, the global certification standard for workplace gender & intersectional equity, and continues to support the organisation as a Strategic Adviser. Earlier in her career Chris was part of the leadership team at the Marine Stewardship Council, where she served as International Policy Director and later Associate Director, contributing to the organisation’s early global growth. She has also served on the Board of WOCAN, supporting women’s leadership and economic empowerment in agriculture and natural resource management, and on the advisory board of Ocean Outcomes, a nonprofit dedicated to sustainable fisheries and thriving coastal communities.

Alongside this work, Chris has a creative practice that serves as another way of exploring and engaging with complexity, transformation and the natural world. Her contemporary fine art reflects a long-standing interest in patterns of change, the relationships between human and ecological systems, and the ways in which meaning emerges through perception and reflection.

Chris continues to work as both consultant and artist. She holds an MSc in People and Organisational Development, a Certificate in Executive Coaching and a postgraduate qualification in Applied Science.
